How does Manzes fight pancreatic cancer?
Fundraising (FUN-Raising)
Manzes knows that with a terrible disease like pancreatic cancer, funding the research to find a cure and upgraded treatments is essential. Therefore Manzes puts on various events that we like to refer to as FUN-Raisers. Yes, Manzes events are geared to raise money, but we believe that charity events do not have to be boring. Therefore Manzes puts on events such as wine tastings, 1980′s theme parties, bar crawls, party-bus tours, basketball tournaments, casino nights, DJ contests, stoplight parties and cruises. Manzes is proud to report that 80% of the funds raised go directly to pancreatic support and research groups. Awareness
Even more important than the money raised is the attention we bring to this deadly disease. Pancreatic cancer has received very little recognition from the media or the government. The main goal of Manzes is to raise money and for as many people as possible to attend our events. Therefore we strive to give the maximum event for the lowest price. This ensures we are able to reach a large crowd and educate our attendees while having a good time and raising funds. Many participants have no idea what pancreatic cancer is, how deadly, and how little government funding it receives. Through the events, our emails, and other social media streams we are able to get the message out about what needs to be done.
Where does the money go?
The money that Manzes raises through our events goes into the Manzes cancer fund. The board members of Manzes have elected to make a monthly contribution to the Lustgarten Foundation (www.lustgarten.org). Manzes makes a case by case decision on the donations we are able to make to other pancreatic organizations and fundraising events. Members also make personal donations.
Since inception Manzes Inc has donated:
$4100 to Lustgarten Foundation (www.lustgarten.org)
$2000 to Road 2 A Cure (www.road2acure.org)
$1810 to PanCann (www.pancann.org)
$500 to the Ayers Family
Testimonials
It is a privilege and an honor to partner with Manzes, Inc. Working with such a talented and selfless group of professional young men toward our common goal in the fight against pancreatic cancer has been a successful and promising experience for The Lustgarten Foundation. Road 2 A Cure participated in a motorsports and casino night with Manzes Inc to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer. This event allowed us to leverage local media contacts to air a segment highlighting awareness in a setting that was entertaining and engaging to a non-traditional audience, motorsports enthusiasts. The vision, enthusiasm and dedication to giving back to the community shown by the Manzes members was amazing. Manzes involvement is fairly unique in that it is not motivated by personal loss or connection with the disease, rather Manzes wanted to give to a cancer cause, researched which cancer needed the assistance the most and mobilized to make a difference. We thank the members and leadership of Manzes for making a difference. We salute and support your future efforts. Yours truly

8 year pancreatic cancer survivor

“I cannot say enough about Manzes, Inc. The San Diego Chapter of Manzes, Inc. has been one of our biggest supporters and many of our events owe a part of their success to the men of Manzes, Inc. Manzes, Inc. aims to be a group of fine, upstanding, young, professional men, committed to bettering each other and to raising money and awareness for the fight against pancreatic cancer – a truly worthy cause with truly abysmal statistics. I can personally attest that I have seen the men of Manzes, Inc. live up to this goal in the time I’ve worked with them and I’m looking forward to what the future holds in store for the impact that can be made between our two organizations.”
